About Bitcoin Node Statistics

On this page we show various statistics related to the Bitcoin network and the nodes in it. At the beginning you can see a pie chart with the distribution of the different Bitcoin clients. The data is also presented in a table form so that clients with a smaller share can also be seen.

We also generate a table with the most popular user agents of nodes. This shows which versions of the different software are currently most used. As well as what the trends are and which software and versions are becoming popular.

All charts are based on the listening Bitcoin nodes. These are the nodes that accept incoming connections (e.g., port 8333 is open). Some nodes are listening but we are not able to get the user agent (TCP handshake is failing). We are labeling such nodes as "Unknown".

Network snapshots are created approximately twice a day.

The search box at the top of the page has been replaced with a form that lets you check information about any public Bitcoin node. To use it, enter a host and port number. By default, the host is your IP address, and the port is 8333.
